Below you will find several examples of the
websites that I've both worked on and created. Most of these
are in or around Louisville so they might look familiar to
you. All of the custom websites that I've created have been
built from scratch, instead of relying on prebuilt templates.
This is a small sampling of the work I've either been completely
responsible for or have had a hand in, there are several other
websites that I work on as contract for other firms.
English
Emprise
I worked on several projects and tasks during
my stay at English Emprise, projects ranging from routine
e-commerce maintenance to data collection. You can see a couple
examples of work I was involved with in the images below.

English Emprise contact form, collects information
and emails it to webmaster as well as adding it to
a database ready file.

Makers Mark Gift Shop corporate gifts
inquiry form, collects inquiry information and emails
it to a representitve along with a database ready
file.

RE/MAX
Properties East
This is a Louisville based company that I developed
for on adaily basis for about a year. During my stay I saw
several web projects through all the way from concept to roll
out. This is the website that I have gathered the majority
of my SEO knowledge and experience from. I regularly work
with the linking strategy and content strategy to help keep
the website in the top 5 results of the top 3 search engines
for the majority of our targeted Louisville Real Estate search
terms.
Below are some samples of both large and very
small projects that I've taken on and finished. By visiting
the link above you will see plenty examples of my work in
a live setting. I didn't design the entire website but I have
had a hand in both day to day maintenance (adding Realtor
information, modifying forms as needed, etc) and extensive
new features that have been added to the site.

Louisville
New Home Showcase
This is an interactive Google Map that
I developed to help people find new Subdivisions throughout
the Louisville Area.

Cost
of Living Calculator
This is a "cost of living"
calculator that I developed to help out of town people
who are thinking about moving to Louisville.

LouisvilleMojo.com
Mo'Homes Advertisement/Portal
This is a portal page that I developed when we joined on with LouisvilleMojo as a local sponsor. The portal page has been effective in that not only does it generate an average of about 3,000 page views a month
but it has also brought users deep into our own site through the integrated home search function and real estate information services. Several successful leads have been brought to the office
from this page. |

Louisville online Relocation Kit
I designed this online Louisville relocation
kit to replace the printed relocation kit that was
previously used to send prospective out of state buyers.
The kit was designed to closely resemble the print
version both in information offered and the visual
design.

RE/MAX Properties East Bulletin Board
This is a PERL based bulletin board
that I implemented to help keep the office in touch.

Christmas Party Invitation / RSVP
This is a quick invitation & RSVP
page that I made for the 2005 office party. |
Eric Hayden Motors
Eric
Hayden Motors contacted me regarding a need for a website
that could showcase all of the automotive services they offer.
Their request was simple, they wanted a website design that would not
only draw in new customers but would be simple to update as
well. I instantly recommended that the updating be done with
Macromedia Contribute 3 and that if they approved then I could
build the website around that idea. They approved and I got to
work.
They were very easy to work with as they had
pretty easy demands. They wanted each page to have their basic
contact information on it (address, phone number), they wanted
to keep the logo tied in with their current identity and they
wanted the design of the website to have a fun feel to it. You can click on
the picture to see what I delivered to them! They now have
a fully functional website that is updated regularly by them
using Macromedia Contribute 3.
Barbour
Manor
 |
Back in 2000 the Louisville neighborhood of Barbour Manor was
ahead of the game by having a website. The website served
its purpose for a few years but started to show its
age around 2004. When the site was moved from a Microsoft
IIS server to an Apache server the webmaster saw the
need to update it from the older ASP pages to newer
code and design that is more user friendly and more
widely accepted.
This is where Fleur-Design stepped in.
We studied the older site design and decided to cut out some
of the menus and sections that the older site had relied
on. This created a more streamlined website that is much
more easily updated and much easier to read through.
Heck, we even took some new photographs for the new
homepage!

Inkstained Studio
A
very talented Louisville artist by the name of Krista Burden
contacted me about building a website to serve as an ongoing
portfolio of her work. Her requests were simple, "Give
me a website that will be easy to update and can allow visitors
to contact me". What she ended up with was a website
that utilized frames, for the ease of adding thumbnail images
without having to worry about tables, and used an open source
contact form that allowed took visitor's information and emailed
it to her.
One neat aspect of this site is that it is 100%
Krista as far as the graphics and design go. Since her day job is graphic
design I had her create images of how she wanted her website
to look. I took these images, sliced them up a little bit,
and added the code to make it all work.
5haggy.com
This was my original website design that I used as a portfolio. Some
of the key features were dropdown menus, rollovers, thumbnail
images that opened in new windows that automatically detected
the size of the image and adjusted correspondingly.
Visitors had the choice to view an HTML version
of my resume or download a copy of it.
Pollen Ventures
This
was the second website that I worked on during my internship
with Hatch
Creative. I was responsible for populating the website
using content that the client had given us in MS Word .Doc
form. I was also responsible for various graphics and minor
code changes. This site is still awaiting for the customer's
approval before it launches.
Perdido
Dunes
The
owners of a beachfront condo came to me with the request to
build a website that would be used to inform potential renter's
on the different aspects of the condominium. They gave me
a cd full of photos and a small chart containing rental rates
and told me to go to work.
The finished product featured all of their pictures,
a cleaned up version of their rental rates and a ton of information
that I researched and included on the website to help entice
their potential customers. After the website was launched they
came back to me requesting help with getting it listed on
various search engines. I helped them with this free of charge.
New
Albany Deanery Youth Ministries
During
my internship with Hatch Creative I was assigned
to help with the transferring and cleaning up of content from
the old version of this website to the new version of the site.
This included both going into ArticleServer and pulling from
the content from there as well as copying directly from the
site and a MS Word document and pasting it into the new site.
The only problem with this is that neither method would duplicate
the content correctly. This meant that I had to spend hours
cleaning up and reorganizing pages upon pages of text and
images.
When all was said and done the client had a
much more modern website with their content organized and presented
in a much more structured manner. Thankfully they are now
using Macromedia Contribute (as opposed to ArticleServer)
to update their site daily.
2nd Quarter Website project
@ ITT-Tech
This
was a mock web site developed as part of my 2nd quarter web
design class at ITT-Tech in Louisville. This project was basically
meant to help us learn the proper structuring of a web site
as well as the in's and out's of Macromedia Dreamweaver. The
project involved researching a possible audience, developing
a site selling a product or service for said audience and
then selling the site to the said audience through a 5 minute
presentation. This project netted me a project grade of 96%.
LouisvilleStreets.com
Ultimate Street Car Challenge
This
was a site that I had to design and launch on a very short
deadline to showcase an automotive competition sponsored by
LouisvilleStreets.com.
The work needed to complete this site included taking the
pictures shown on the site, recording and editing the video.
